For me it is not very difficult to ride at 50 degrees centigrade which I had done in the deserts of Egypt but cold is something very difficult to sustain. As I am a zero fat man the cold hits the bones and makes me shiver like hell. For the past few day when I came to Winnipeg from Toronto, I had been facing severe cold about zero and with chill factor minus degrees too. I am wearing two thermal innerwear, two T-shirts, one fleece jacket and then my bike jacket…at least now I look fat. I wear two pairs of very good gloves but even then my hands are freezing so I have to stop every few minute and BBQ my hands on the engine block until they are back to normal temp (And I put my feel always on the engine so somewhat ok).
But I was able to go somehow. God wanted me to know how to handle cold and he sent an untimely cold wave right behind me from Churchill and now we have a snow storm. I am struck at -14 degrees Celsius and 6 inches of snow. But am going to ride to USA today because I don't want to get struck here for many more days…But the cold wave is also moving south with me. So lets all hope that I am not struck in snow.
See you soon from America.
